A glass plan
before a travel plan.

A short guide to the questions, photos and timing that make an RV glass inquiry easier.

Before you call

Turn “something’s wrong”
into useful information.

Photograph the full RV, the whole affected window and a close-up of the concern. Add any readable manufacturer markings. Have the RV’s year, make, model and VIN available.

  • Explain when you first noticed the issue.
  • Describe which window or windshield section is affected.
  • Share the current location and any upcoming departure date.

If damage affects visibility or you are unsure whether the vehicle is safe to move, speak with a qualified professional before driving it to an appointment.

02
Before you commit

Understand what
goes into the estimate.

The correct glass, its availability, the installation requirements and service location all matter. A useful estimate starts with your particular RV, rather than a price borrowed from someone else’s coach.

If you plan to use insurance, ask your insurer about glass coverage, deductible, claim authorization and any required documentation. Absolute Auto Glass can help with the glass information and service discussion. Coverage decisions belong to your insurer.

Avoid sending policy documents or payment information in an initial email. Ask what is needed and how the team wants to receive it.

03
Before the service day

Build a workable stop
into the itinerary.

Confirm the appointment with the team before rearranging a campground reservation or changing your route. Glass sourcing, access and installation conditions may affect scheduling.

  • Confirm whether the job is at the shop or an approved mobile location.
  • Ask your campground or storage operator about outside service providers.
  • Keep access information and a reachable phone number handy.
  • Discuss the work area and any clearance restrictions.

After the installation

The next mile starts
with the technician’s guidance.

Ask for the safe-drive-away time and the aftercare instructions for your specific installation. Do not substitute another owner’s experience or a generic waiting time for the directions you receive.

Before leaving, understand who to contact with a question and which warranty terms apply to the work. Keep your service paperwork with the RV’s records.
